Aussie superfoods to shake up snacking

The Australian Superfood Co has launched four ‘raw bars’ made wholly and solely from Australian native bush food.

The company says this powerful group of fruits and seeds is so rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that it surpasses renowned superfoods, and sets new global standards for nutrition and taste.

“The ingredients have been growing in Australia for over 50,000 years, sustaining our Aboriginal people as sources of food and medicine,” a spokesperson said. “So we, as new Australians, are thrilled to announce we’ve finally caught on.”

The star performer is Kakadu plum, which is claimed to have exceptional nutritional and antiseptic properties and contain the highest vitamin C concentration of any other food on earth.

There are four variants in the raw bar range:

  • Ancient Rainforest Berry: made with Davidson plum and riberry, along with chia, almonds, blueberries and coconut.
  • Desert Tribe Tropical: featuring Kakadu plum and quandong.
  • Lemon Seed Wonder: with lemon myrtle and finger lime.
  • Wattleseed Hush, Cacao: wattleseed teamed with coconut, cacao, almonds and chia.
