Description

Mountain Pepperberry is a surprise gem of the bush that can be used in any and all savory dishes in place of black pepper or to give that extra bite. Historically, it was used by indigenous Australians to enhance flavours and to treat oral infections like sore gums and tooth aches. Today, it’s prized for its unique flavor PLUS its exceptional health benefits.

The pepper berry is known for its ‘hot’ flavour due to the polygodial properties. They are fruity upon first taste, followed by a spicy flavour.

Mountain Pepper Berry has exceptional antioxidant capacity (more than the beloved blueberry!). It also contains Vitamin E, lutein, zinc, magnesium and calcium.

I love Pepper Berries

Love pepper berries … first discovered in Tasmania, given a free sample with spirit of Tasmanian ferry crossing, March 2021. I find it fresher less bitter and a smoother stronger pepper than normal peppercorns.
I like the semi dried consistency, which works well in my grinder thankfully, great on avos and fresh tomatoes but gives a different flavour all my food where traditionally I have used pepper. Pity it is in such short supply and goes out of stock, with suppliers also limiting orders. Perhaps more plants should be planted.
Delivery times could be faster and better please, I found this in covid and pre covid times, customers want their orders within 5 working days and this should be achievable in australia!

Slow delivery

I have had lots of gushing emails from you but no goods yet. It has been almost three weeks. Despite this, you have asked for a review. So here it is. I also never asked for a public name.

Never going back to normal pepper

Nothing else like this in the world. Flavour is phenomenal. The dried mostly imported pepper is heat and no flavour. Australian pepperberries are in a class of their own.

Brilliant product

I recently used this product in association with the Saltbush and Lemon Myrtle for a roast lunch for 50 Seniors. Everyone remarked on how much they enjoyed the flavours and the kitchen was very aromatic. Great product!

Amazing flavours

Amazing flavours on all the herbs and spices I ordered. I want to use these Australian native spices to create my own Raclette (Swiss melted cheese) spice.
