Davidson Plum Sauce
Davidson Plum provides a tart taste and is high in Vitamin E and Zinc, two nutrients required for youthful looking skin! Add it to sauces by balancing out with something sweet and you have yourself the ultimate addition to any meal.
- 1 tsp Davidson Plum Powder
- 300 g castor sugar
- 1 star anise
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- 3/4 cup of red wine
- 3/4 cup of water
- 1/2 tbsp butter
- pinch of salt
Add Davidson Plum powder to the water in a saucepan. Add sugar, cinnamon stick, wine and anise. Simmer for an hour on low heat.
Pour through a sieve and then return liquid to saucepan and reduce by half until thick.
Add salt and butter to taste.
Serve in a jar to accompany roasted turkey, chicken or other meat.
